This event is primarily aimed at:

  • Local partners
  • Local practitioners
  • Community and voluntary organisations and groups
  • Small group coordinators

    Programme Topics

Session 1: Unconscious Bias - what we need to be aware of
In this session Kate Spreadbury (Independent Lead Reviewer) will raise awareness of assumptions that can be made about those that may need help and that the cost-of living crisis may mean unexpected groups are trying to interact with services.  There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Session 2: Early Help - the Bracknell Forest approach
Sarah Batchelor from Bracknell Forest Council will provide an overview of the Bracknell Forest approach to Early Help, how to signpost families to the right help and how to support families that are repeatedly referred.

Session 3: Supporting residents through the Financial Hardship Forum
Sarah Walker the Social Justice Lead from Kerith revive will provide an overview on the work of the Voluntary, Community and Faith Sector (VCFS) Financial Hardship Forum being undertaken to support residents facing increasing financial hardship.

Session 4: Public Health Social Prescribing Service
The  Bracknell Forest Public Health Team will provide an overview of the social prescribing community offer and how it can support residents to improve their wellbeing, increase social connections and reduce loneliness/isolation.  There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.

Session 5: Transitioning from child to adult services
Brian Boxall, BF Safeguarding Board Independent Chair will provide an update on the Transitional Safeguarding group and how well children are being supported as they transition to adult services.

Session 6: Question and Answer Session
An opportunity to raise any safeguarding issues particularly considering the cost-of-living crisis and long-term social effects of covid.
